Made from plants, not plastic

The layer against your skin is bamboo fibre. The leak-proof backing is corn-starch bioplastic rather than polyethylene. Most conventional pads are, in material terms, plastic products — ours are not. More on why bamboo and corn.

Nothing added

No chlorine bleaching. No added fragrance. No dioxins. No pesticide-grown fibre. Fragrance in particular is among the most common causes of monthly irritation, and it only ever masks odour rather than preventing it — the full argument here.

Naturally antibacterial

Bamboo resists bacterial growth on its own. Since odour comes from bacteria meeting moisture, that addresses the cause instead of covering it.

Breathable, which matters more here

In Gulf heat and humidity a non-breathable pad traps warmth and moisture against skin — the exact conditions that cause pad rash. Airflow is not a luxury feature in this climate.

Biodegradable

A conventional pad is commonly cited as taking around 500 years to break down, because most of it is plastic. A plant-fibre pad returns to the environment in years rather than centuries. We are careful about how we word this — what that actually means in the UAE.
