Probiotics simplified – DIY

You may have seen many probiotic drinks during your grocery shopping but how often do you actually end up buying it? For what it’s worth, it is capable of flipping your entire life to the brighter side of the coin by offering you internal as well as external benefits.   1. Brewed Strawberry Soda
  2. Lacto-Fermented Lemonade

Brewed Strawberry Soda

Prep time – 35 mins | Fermenting – 2 days | Total – 2 days, 35 mins

Yield – 2 liters

Storage – In the refrigerator up to 2 weeks

Ingredients and Equipments :-

  • A 2-liter fermenting bottle made of glass
  • Saucepan
  • Funnel
  • A Food Processor
  • 2 pounds of crisp strawberries
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 cup of water
  • 5 cups of white sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon of champagne yeast

Instructions :-

  • Chop up those fresh strawberries and store them in a bowl. Then pour the squeezed lemon juice on top of the strawberries and let it settle.
  • Boil the water in a pan. After boiling, move it away from the source of heat and then add sugar and slowly whisk it until completely dissolved.
  • Then pour this above-mentioned water-sugar mixture into the bowl with strawberries and leave it for 10 mins.
  • Liquify the mixture by mixing it in a blender.
  • Pour the mixture into a bottle and then add water to it, leaving 1 inch of headspace at the lid.
  • Add the yeast into the mixture and let it ferment for 48 hours. When it gets fizzy, it is ready to be consumed!!!
  • Enjoy the delicious healthy drink ;)
